Meeting Space Needed

As the 2nd half of September approaches, we here at PDXCritique have not been able to find a meeting space to host us yet. We got tons of great ideas at the our social meetup last month and have been contacting people left and right. All of the places we have contacted have been very nice, but have some requirements we have not been able to meet.

If anyone is a member of NedSpace or an employee of Jive Software, we would love to chat with you further.

All suggestions welcome.

Social Hour a rousing success

The topic of the evening was a brainstorming on where to point this group (locations for meetings, how to brand/advertise, ect). Great ideas were passed around like hot cakes and we’ll likely see some changes in the very near future. Thanks again for all that were able to make it out and helped make this group the wonderful collective that it is.

Stay Tuned

As most of you know already, CubeSpace will no longer exist after June 12th, 2009. For the full story please go here.

We will truly miss CubeSpace and the valuable resource they have been for us over the past year. However, we must look forward to the future and that means finding a new meeting space.

We are seeking your opinion on where a good place to meet would be? What matters to you in a meeting space? Know of any places right now?

In the meantime we look forward to OSBridge next week, we will be taking our June meeting there as a Birds of a Feather talk. More details to come as soon as we have them.

April 2009 Meeting Notes

Thought PropulsionLittle did I realize last night that our April meeting marked our one year anniversary, so happy anniversary to us. We have reviewed a lot of designs, food and even some poetry this last year and I am very proud to be a part of this amazing group of people.

We had 10 people for the meeting and a few joined us at the bar afterwords. First, Bill Burcham presented thoughtpropulsion.com, a site for his personal business that focuses on consulting and iphone development. We spent a lot of time on this site and went through each section. It was nice to allocate two slots to one site, I felt it let us really get to 90% of the site and offer a well rounded feedback.

One of our presenters got stuck in Central Oregon, but Stacey Dawson stepped up the plate and offered up her resume for review.

All in all a fabulous meeting of great minds. Thanks to Ben for the great photo.

A Note to our Audience

We are committed to expanding the focus of PDX Critique. As such, we have all promised to write posts regularly about things that concern us that relate, in some way or another, to the core mission of PDX Critique.

I kicked us off on our expansion with a post about my bra strap.

I hope to see you all next week at our October meeting at CubeSpacePDX.

7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
